HALL (Walsh, Comeau), Bernice Margaret Marie - November 12, 1930 - July 9, 2009. Bernice earned her wings Thursday at 3:30 pm in Yarmouth Regional Health Centre after a lengthy illness. She was a daughter of the late John Joseph & Elise Marie (Dugas) Walsh of Saulnierville & raised by the late Ema & Melbourne Comeau of Meteghan, after the death of her mother. Bernice met her husband, Arthur Eugene Hall, at her first job at the Old Grand Hotel in Yarmouth. They were married on September 1, 1948, had a long life together & celebrated 60 years on September 1, 2008. Bernice worked at the Met for years, then at Zellers on Main Street in Yarmouth & finally to Pleasant Supplies. She was a very creative person who took on any job with the same zest that she lived her life. She also had a love for square dancing & was a member of the Clare Acadian & Bluenose Twirlers. Bernice was a people person always saying, “I don’t give handshakes, I give hugs”, & many she did. She enjoyed entertaining company at their home in Port Maitland & always had a variety of cakes, squares, treats & a cup of coffee for anyone who passed through their doors. She was very active in the Salmon River Church giving hugs at the door or communion in the front or helping with the many tasks in the preparation of mass. Bernice was predeceased by siblings, Gerald, Hubert, Francis, Raymond, Etta Deveau, Hilda comeau & Pauline Day. She is survived by her husband, Arthur, her daughters, Pam (Carl), Deveau, Beaver River; Paulette (Charles) Hicks, Bear River; grandchildren, Chad Hersey, Danielle Deveau, Penni Hicks, and great-grandchildren, Julie, Alexis & Isabelle & her sister, Rachel Hall of Beaver River. Bernice was a great lover of nature, enjoying the many flowers she cultivated with that famous green thumb of hers. She was known for her donations of African Violets to the hospital & visits to many patients that were there. Her smile & outgoing personality was one of the traits Bernice will long be remembered for.
